Benefits of ZEBRA Membership
Zero-emission bus deployments require new considerations and analytics, and ZEBRA provides a safe space for operators to support each other during their clean fleet transitions.
Access to:
- Quarterly webinars that provide members with technical presentations around industry concepts and member ZEB deployment updates
- Industry roundtable meetings that provide members direct access to zero-emission vehicle and infrastructure vendors and suppliers
- Bi-weekly newsletters that keep our members informed on industry updates
- ZEB data dashboard; a high-level snapshot of ZEBRA’s zero-emission bus performance
- Click here to view an anonymized version of the dashboard
- Inside look into members' ZEB and Infrastructure information
- Access to ZEBRA’s online member portal
- Tools and resources for CEOs to use in Board engagement on ZEBs
- Federal priorities for advocacy in DC that represent ZEBRA’s unified voice and focus on both battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and infrastructure.
Participants will:
- Share best practices with other agencies to ensure more successful deployments
- Identify means of leveraging resources for common use
- Develop materials that can assist in planning and deploying ZEB fleets
- Develop and join in workforce development programs
Ultimately, ZEBRA can:
- Present a unified position on ZEB policies that reflect proactive approaches to ZEB deployments
- Prescribe ZEB performance characteristics to ZEB OEMs
All transit agencies are welcome to join ZEBRA. Meetings are held periodically in-person before or after a major industry event, or via WebEx at least three times per year.
There are three annual membership fee levels for micro, small, and large agencies. ZEBRA also welcomes accredited universities and colleges to join at a membership fee of $1,500.
Micro Agencies | <9 bus fleet | $1,000 |
Small Agencies | 10-99 bus fleet | $3,500 |
Large Agencies | >100 bus fleet | $5,500 |
The West Coast Center of Excellence in Zero-Emission Technology (CoEZET) is hosted by SunLine Transit Agency. Funded and recognized by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the center serves to bring education to transit agencies looking to establish or increase their zero-emission fleets and technologies. The instruction covers topics that address in-service management of zero-emission technologies, which includes fueling systems and fleet operations. The center is also looking to assist with the reduction of unscheduled maintenance by demonstration of a shared resource software called System Maintenance Automated Repair and Test (SMART). CoEZET provides a place for focused training and instruction in conjunction with educational institutions and original equipment manufacturers. The center has also been funded for a dedicated zero-emissions maintenance facility which will be used to demonstrate many of the diagnostic tools necessary to maintain zero-emission fleets. We are excited to offer these resources to ZEBRA members.
Partnering with CTE
The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) works on behalf of ZEBRA’s membership to provide the group with technical assistance and industry consultation based on extensive experience in ZEB deployments. CTE is a national non-profit with a mission of moving advanced clean vehicles to market.
At present, CTE is working with more than 70 transit agencies to deploy more than 350 zero-emission buses.
A few of the services CTE provides to ZEBRA members:
• Strategic tools and answers for ZEB deployment planning
• In-depth training opportunities
• Representation of group interests in charging and H2 fueling discussions
• Coordination of ZEBRA presence at external events
